Has Blizzard done it again?

Though they have recently just announced that they are postponing it again, I am getting excited for StarCraft 2. Though I am a little concern now that the hype behind these RTS game are over if Starcraft 2 will make as big of a splash as Blizzard is hoping it will.

When Starcraft first came out, it was so far ahead of its competition and even more in front of its sibling series of games, Warcraft, that no one could hold a candle to it. Now, the industry has learned of the money that could be made and is ready for a fight. Blizzard, I feel, has been sitting back on the accomplishments of its past games and not thrown its chips on the table to next round of games. Let's see if Starcraft 2 is up to the challenge.

Sometime the simplest games are the most enjoyable

So recently a buddy of mine found this game on Steam and decided to buy it for a group of us. Not thinking much about it, I wasn't too excited. The other day, in an hour of boredom, I started it up and since then have dedicated at least 40 hours to it since. I am addicted to it!

It is a simple multi-player game with only 7 buttons need to control it and it is nothing but fun. The games are about 5 minutes long and always randomly selected so that you can't be on or against a super dominating team for too long. It is great!

Chose your own adventure in awesome video game.

Some people where not a fan of Indigo Prophecy, but I am of the opinion that Quantic Dream style of game is great and they just need to keep doing what they are doing. It seems people are at least feeling that way with the release of their newest game "Heavy Rain". Reports from its first week are showing that over 500,000 were sold and it is steady headed to a million copies hopefully by week 2.

"Heavy Rain" game mechanics have evolved since Indigo, now you don't have only one path towards finishing the story, but multiples. The biggest complain I heard from their previous games was the horrible "Game Over" scene that would pop up everytime you chose a decision that the game did thing was correct. Now, there is no wrong decisions in the game and that is awesome.

I am guessing all classic literature will soon become games. It started with Beowulf and now it has moved on to Dante's Inferno with the hopes of finishing out the 3 stories of the "Divine Comedy." Though I am guessing that the last game, which is paradise, would be quite lame.

EA is going all out on this game. And for the most part, I really like it. Game play, graphics and plot are great. It is your standard hack them up type game but who wouldn't like going to battle against the Devil. Definitely buy worthy but not a rush to the store type game.

C of D: Modern Warfare 2 - The Game of the Year

“Only the dead have seen the end of war.” Get ready one of the best games that I have played this decade. The people at Infinity Ward have really gone out of their way to make a game that doesn't have any faults that I can think of.

If you haven't played it yet, and it would be hard if you haven't since it is also the most illegally downloaded game of the year, play it. The gameplay is fun and exciting and for once, you aren't praying for the end of the board because you are tired of the computer taking cheap shots.

To Boldly Go...

Man, every trekkie bone in my body is excited and hoping that they don't screw this up. Can you imagine how cool this online community would be if that game takes off and lives up to the hype I am hearing about it. Let us hope for more World of Warcraft type MMO and less Conan MMO.

So the entire Star Trek universe will be playable and up for you to shape. I am not sure if it will be the original universe or the J.J Abrams version from the latest movie. Either way, it will so nice to command my own bridge. Don't let me down, let's have another great MMO to chose from.
